There are little plazas or parks every other block or so in Seville and all sorts of people hang out there, reading, talking, walking their grandchildren, smoking. Every time I painted out doors there some children would gather around and we would communicate in spanglish. They taught me the Spanish names for all my art supplies. Sac a punte, they told me again and again was (complete with finger gestures) “make a point”, or pencil sharpener.
